House of the Philippines Board Members 2008


I. Current House of the Philippines Board Members 2008

1.) President: Patricia McReynolds

The President is in charge of putting together the monthly general meetings every 3rd Sunday of every month. The president must also go to the monthly HPR meetings. Other than that the president is in charge of the other board members if they are unable to fulfill their duties.

2.) 1st Vice President: Alexander V. Areta

The 1st Vice President is mainly in charge of the 27 weekly hosting days; and making sure there are people to host on those days. The 1st vice president steps in when the president is unable to fulfill his/her duties.

3.) 2nd Vice President: Rom Sarno

The 2nd Vice President is head person in charge of the House of the Philippines 3 major events: Ethnic Food Fair, Lawn Program, & December Nights.
4.) Treasurer: Sam Besa

The Treasurer is in charge of all the money the House of the Philippines uses & accumulates.

5.) Secretary: Stephanie Psillas

Secretary is in charge of all the paperwork of each meeting.
II. OTHER OBLIGATIONS:
HPR or House of Pacific relations is the united group of all the other 30+ ethnic houses and each house must send representatives to HPR meeting. Delegates are sent to the HPR meetings to get to know the other houses, events and festivals that are-might occur(ing) in the future.

1.) HRP Delegates

HRP Delegates go to the monthly meetings with the other houses and represents the Cottage.
2.) QUEENS ASSOCIATION
Mission: The Queens Organization of the HPR houses is an educational and cultural service organization for young members. Objectives are to promote a close relationship with the young people and adult members of all the ethnic groups represented in the House of Pacific Relations. To foster the spirit of understanding, tolerance and goodwill between all races and nationalities, trying to understand each one’s culture, customs, background, tradition and history.
To present to the public the music and dances of the various ethnic groups represented in the HPR To be “Goodwill Ambassadors” of the HPR. To represent the cottages in a positive way. To educate its members in parliamentary procedures, democratic processes and good public relations. They are preparing them to become responsible members of their respective houses.
